IMF says can worsen outlook for Russian GDP
WASHINGTON, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not rule out worsening its outlook for the Russian gross domestic product (GDP) in spite of recovery signs, the fund said in a statement on Tuesday.
In October, the IMF improved the Russian GDP outlook for 2020 to a 4.1% decrease from a 6.6% fall forecast in July. The 2021 forecast was changed to a 2.8% rise from a 4.1% rise.
The fund said that Russia demonstrated signs of a healthy recovery but the success is threatened by a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus cases and called on Russia to implement additional measures of economic support.
